Default Navi system help I broke the flex cable

Hey folks my car is a 04 touring, I took my dash apart today to repaint it to cover some scratches from the previous owner. and when i got back together my motorised navi door woundnt open so I took it back apart and tried removing the gear to see if the unit would turn on and nothing! I then noticed the flex cable from the three center gauges was broken will this cause the navi unit not to turn on even when the door is opened manually? and if so what do I do to fix this

Thanks David

You can fix these. I've just done the same as my motorised cubby was working intermitantly, if you take it to a good pc repair shop or electronics shop they should be able to do it fairly cheaply.
