Redline 75w90 or 75w90 NS for stock VLSD
Is it better to use the
Redline 75w90 with friction modifiers
http://www.redlineoil.com/product.aspx?pid=133&pcid=4
or
Redline 75w90 NS without friction modifiers
http://www.redlineoil.com/product.aspx?pid=47&pcid=7
in the stock differential with VLSD?
Thanks

to my understanding it's supposed to GL-4 oil, which would be MT 75w90 gear oil...........I believe GL-5 can mess up the syncro's .someone with better knowledge will chime in soon

No friction modifier is needed with a VLSD, the VLSD unit has its own fluid.

anyone with insight on the ns fluid? My diff had a whine(os superlock) so I tried redline fluid to see if it would quite it down. The ns says it quites noise diff's and can be used with lsd's but now my diff is noisier than ever. Anyone else try this? I am thinking of going back to motul ls 300.

Thanks. I removed the ns fluid though, it make the diff howl really bad. When I switched it to regular 75w140 redline(the one thar already has a friction modifier in it) It was quite again. It still whines only from 60-65mph, so I am having the shop look at the os next week

that would be ideal, but it adds up when you take into consideration that the fluid is exhanged every 2500-3000 miles. It does not seem like alot but my maintance is currently at motul 300v oil change($115), motul 300 gear(trans $90), coolant($40) and then the diff fluid($60). All done within 5k miles or after each track day I no longer dd the car so that's a plus

Those instructions read like stereo instructions. I read it as first change at 3000 or first track day, then factory (Nissan?!) intervals. Good to know, I bought a bunch of the OS stuff before California starting being a ***** about out of state taxes.
