Hey forums,

Need some help. I started suffering from a couple of issues. The first was loss of power after 4K rpms. Its very random. Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't. If i get on it on the highway in 3rd... i get full power up to 4K rpms then its almost like it shuts fuel. My cruise control is not working either. Before anyone jumps the gun, no, i don't have aftermarket tail lights. Also, when i free rev in neutral, as the rpms come down, they seem to fall to about 300-400 and come back up. I thought it was an air leak....I cleaned the MF, cleaned out TB, re did my crawford plenum gasket with silicon gasket, What else can be causing this?

Sorry guys, forgot to add:

I have a 03 6 spd track. 56K miles. No Cel. I even got it checked to make sure that a p code was not tripping a cel. There was a problem before when i first purchased the car. If i was driving and went into neutral (pushing clutch down) the car would stall. This issue went away after going through some of the reset procedures... which i have done on multiple occasions. It solved the issues temporarily, but always came back. The idle dropping to 300 after free reving was always there.

Check ur vaccum hoses??.....also what have the dealerships tell you???

 

The dealership said they can't reproduce the problem. They say after they initiate a reset... cruise control works. They never did a full test on the power band. They just drive it normal. I asked them on several occasions to give her all she's got... but they in turn say they can't reproduce it. After i get the car... after 20 minutes, i loose cruise control and get the same power problem. I tried driving earlier and i got the power loss at 3K rpms... then it kicked in until about 3.8 K... then loss at 4K. While i was creaping awak from 4K, it seems as power kick in and out randomly up to 6K.. when i went into 4th... it was just dead. I was at 4-5K with no power at all... I'm very depressed about this.

Do you have loss of power on a cold start?

 

take the service Tech for a ride next time being they can't re-create the problem.Hope someone can fix your ride it's a bummer when your baby isn't running right.Good luck!
