Default 1st to 2nd, Transmission Problems

I know nothing about transmissions so if anyone who does could help me diagnose and solve my problem, it will be much appreciated. I have an 05 with 50,000miles and when driving hard, 1st to 2nd is slow and hard. When driving normal it goes into gear perfectly but when driving WOT its hard to shift. It comes out of 1st fine, then stops just before its into 2nd gear for a second. Is it the syncro, or something else?

Thanks in advance, DK

Driver error, shift smoothly. No need for a ricer style slam shift when driving hard.

Fluid was already said, if that doesnt help, do you have the 60k mile warranty? Nissan gave me new trans flywheel and clutch on my 08 with 21k miles on it. Git while the gittn is good... or

a- its a 5 year or 60k warranty, so times up.
b- nissan fluid has the proper viscosity to help this.. adding torco or royal purple will give you more problems.. i am going back to nissan formula for my new transmission.
And yes OP.. its common. It sucks.. our transmissions are notchy as hell.

Sounds like syncros, very common problem with early model Zs with the non-CD009 transmission. Try replacing the fluid with OE fluid, if that doesn't solve the problem the only fix is to replace the transmission with the revised CD009.

Goodluck
