Default New 05 Z, knocking noise when I turn car off

Hi Guys.... I am new to the 350Z world. I bought a 2005 with 67k miles on it about a week ago.... the car runs good, I just have a few concerns. when I got home today pulled in the garage and shut the car off I heard a horrible knocking/rattling sound. I typed the symptom into multiple searches and didnt get much of an answer. I did however go out to the car and try to do it again. It did do it, however if I have the clutch pressed in all the way as I turn it off it dosen't make the noise or barely makes it, if the clutch is out it is loud as can be.... any ideas?? the only other concern I have is the clutch seems to release really high on the car. Is that normal for z's? it does grab well and shift well.... it also has a few mods done by previous owner..... Motordyne MREV/APS 2.5 Catback/Stillen CAI/Plenum Spacer/UpRev Tune. Thanks in advance for the help

It's normal. All Z's and G's that are manual do it. The clutches/flywheels are loud. Especially when you upgrade to lightened ones. As for high release points, again, normal. There have been multiple threads of people trying to lower it.

perfectly normal. All VQs with a manual makes that noise when you turn it off in my experience. It has something to do with the clutch and flywheel stopping.

Unhappy knocking sound

I have exactly the same knocking sound when turning off the engine. I have 100K on my 2007... Did you solve the issue?

Weird... I've never seen a Z make that noise, and I've driven a couple street cars and a couple cars that have been drifted VERY hard.

I have 05 manual and have been experiencing some noise or chatter myself when cutting off car.I was told it was normal for the Z's. So I ignore it if anyone discovers its actually a problem that can be corrected please let all know.

Bro, my 2006 with 46k just started to do that and I was pissed, since i thought I might have been Pushing her too hard. But i did that clutch things while I turn her off and no noise.

I have a 2005 350z and I have the same knocking sound when I turn off.
I also have quite a noisy knocking sound when I come of the throttle rapidly in low gears at low speeds.
Could this be a sign that either the engine mounts or transmission mount need to be replaced?

often post shut off knocking is due to gas that is not high enough octane. If you are not using at least 91 octane that may be the problem.
