cleaned popcharger, running rich and dies at start up?
I drove it back to the shop and they loaded an idle relearn and then all the problems were resolved.
did you end up buying a new one or a refurbished one from rockauto or something?
i hope its something as simple as the throttle body, i guess ill find out for sure tomorrow.
thanks for all the help everyone

ok, so i went into the shop to get everything checked out. i tried to make the car stall for them to see but it wouldnt. the rmp's would drop to 500 then come back up. they plugged in the code reader and no codes came up. they then found a vacuum leak that i couldnt hear over the rain yesterday. its coming from the hose where it connects to the pvc valve and the lower plenum on the passengers side of the car (the hose that a catch can replaces). they said that its a small leak and i souldnt be experiencing the problems i have. unfortunately thats all they did because theyre always busy and i was able to squeeze in to their schedule because one of the guys there is my neighbor.
so i leave there, (and the whole time im driving, the car feels really weird and laggy/boggy) i go to advanced auto and pick up some maf cleaner, clean my maf and the car doesnt want to die anymore. it starts up fine and the rpm's dont drop but the AFR's are still doing the same thing. the car also feels better when driving, not perfect but better.
heres a sound clip of the leak:

the sound you hear when i turn the car off didnt happen when i was at the shop, i only noticed it after i cleaned the maf. im not exactly sure what that sound is so i was hoping you guys had some ideas.
ill order a cusco oil catch can to replace that line but what i dont understand is, if the leak was already there before, how come these problems didnt show themselves until i cleaned the filter?
just to be sure the maf isnt the problem, i would really like to switch it with another Z's maf. so if anyone is in the DC,MD,VA, or Richmond area and willing to meet up so i can test out a different maf?

Sometimes it's hard to address something mechanically when things happen to start acting funny after you do something. In all honesty it was probably just coincidental.
The other thing I don't understand is how people are saying the stock VQ TB has issues. Can anyone explain what happens ?
