Default 03 350z cranks but has trouble starting almost everyday

03 350z with viper aftermarket alarm cranks just fine but sometimes i have to try a couple of times for it to start. I did some research and I really dont know how to check if its "throwing a nats code". I only have one key and one alarm. I previously had a problem with the battery but when this happened no lights would turn on just the battery light so i cleaned the battery and tightened the loose cable. Could it still be the battery? Today it happened to me after i turned off the car which was hot at a gas station it took me like 8 tries for the car to turn on I popped the hood to mess with the battery cable and it did but could it be my fuel pump?

Sorry for the long text just clueless here
Thanks in advance.

IMHO, there are a lot of other factors that come into play. Did you check your spark plugs to make sure they're not fouled? Most importantly, use the search function provided to you. Also, type in google, 350z won't start. I pulled up a bunch of threads concerning that issue. Hope that helps! :thumb up: As friendly advice, bro to bro, try not post up the same thread twice because you didn't get an answer right away, just be patient.

As for throwing a code, you would have already got a CEL if that were the case.

Again as for the battery, take the key and turn it into the on position, don't crank the car. Make sure you are getting 12+ volts on the readout.

I had a very similar problem a few months ago and it was the cam sensors.
I had my battery replaced about 3 years ago, and it should be good for another 3 if I'm careful.

This is what happened to me. All of a sudden the car stalled on a cold night at a stop light. I turned it and it didn't come up on the first try. It had the same symptoms were the same as when my battery died except when my battery died my car just wouldn't start period, and the cranks would get weaker after a second or so.

This time my car would start after a few tries, and the cranks was consistent.
