2003 350z auto/trans popped out of gear
My Z's automatic transmission popped out of 5th gear while driving normally (steady gas at 65 mph).
It wouldnt return into gear, in normal or manual mode so i had to pull over (was in fast moving traffic).
After pulling over and coming to a complete stop. The car seemed to be stuck in second gear.
I turned the car off for a while and then restarted it and the A/T light came on, along with the service engine soon light (they may have been on already but i was to busy in traffic trying not to get killed to notice).
So i turned it off again, made some calls, and started it up again. This time only the service engine soon light came on.
Everything seemed cool and I drove it and it seems perfectly fine now... (big time wtf).
So I hit autozone on my way home and they pulled a code P1730 (info on the code below).
I've been searchin the net and this site to see if its a common problem, but I dont seem to be finding much info.
I was wondering if anyone has had this problem before, and if so, is it a diy job? It seems like a pressure switch, or a solenoid issue.
------------------------------------------------------------------
"P1730 NISSAN - Automatic Transmission Interlock
Symptoms- Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)
Possible causes
- Low coast brake solenoid valve harness is open or shorted
- Low coast brake solenoid valve circuit poor electrical connection
- Fault low coast brake solenoid valve
- Faulty Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF) pressure switch 2 When is the code detected?
Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P1730 is detected when Transmission Control Module (TCM) does not receive the proper voltage signal from the sensor and switch.

I cant offer much personal experience but maybe check and see that all sensors going into your trans are not loose.
Since it went away and it says it isnt receiving proper signal that could be an issue.

thanks for the replies.
I had my crackshaft, cams banks 1 and 2 sensors replaced last year along with the harness. Maybe the harness is loose, Ill check it this weekend. Hopefully its something simple.
I have the stock shifer.
valve body replaced... shhhh dont say that!

Shes been driving perfectly fine for the last 60 miles but the service engine soon light has remained on. I havent had a chance to crawl under the car yet, but today the service engine soon light turned itself off!
