Has anyone had their tires replaced by dealer for rumbling noises???
Just wanted to know if anyone has had thier front tires replaced by their dealership due to the rumbling noises it makes when u brake. I am getting this loud rumbling noise when i brake and its so annoying. I a lready had the alignment fixed. Also if u have had this issue fixed, what did u tell the dealer, regarding the noise of course? Thanks

This is due to the tire feathering problem. Do a search on "Tire Feathering" and you will find more information on this site than just about ANY other subject.
There is a TSB (a technical service bulletin) on this noise. You should simply take the car to the dealer and tell them about the noise. You can refer them to TSB Ntb03006
Here is Nissan's actual text for this TSB:
Ntb03006
IF YOU CONFIRM: An applied vehicle shows the following symptoms when braking moderately: • excessive tire "roar" or "growl" noise, mostly when braking at speeds below 30 mph. ACTIONS: Verify the incident noise as described above. • Check alignment. Adjust (if needed). • Rotate front tires from side to side, dismounting tires from wheels. See this bulletin for detail.
As you can see, they will swap the tires from right to left after removing them and remounting them "inside out". This will solve the rumbling since the feathered part of the tire will now be on the outside whereas it was on the inside of the tire before the swap.
This is only temporary though as it will eventually happen again. Make sure you request a 4 wheel alignment after they do the swap to prolong the return of the feathering as much as possible.
When it does come back, then ask your dealer for new tires.
Good Luck

Ferandito,
The I went in for the drifting to the right problem and the first time they just set my front alignment to spec. toe-in was off. The drifting did'nt go away. The first time I asked if I would need new tires and they said they were cupping(feathering), but it was O.K.
The second time I was able to get them to order me two front tires which are on back order, that was in Sept. It is beyond the dealers control they say they are waiting for tires to come in. For now a lower control arm was also thrown in. The cupping/feathering on your tires is making the growl sound. Get new front tires and ask about the lower control arm.
