Well today my car threw a check engine light, so i went and got it scanned and it was only 1 code (P1273)
P1273 NISSAN - Air Fuel Ratio (A/F) Sensor 1 Lean Shift Monitoring Bank 1
I recently got my car tuned.. and everything was perfect. could this just be that I need a new air fuel sensor?
2004 350z enthusiast
93 octane - always
synthetic fuel - always
mods:
injen intake
md spacer
headers, tp, true dual exhaust..
any advice? tips?

You've basically taken it's whole reason for existence (converters) out of the loop. Even if it is bad you don't need it much anymore. Double check for vacuum leaks/exhaust leaks on B1 (passenger), only mechanical issue likely for it to be detecting.

but on another note, i came across this today. could this just have been bad gas? please watch the video:

That was painful to watch, maybe bad gas, real easy to test gas for water/alcohol if you have tools to obtain sample from fuel rail. I'm surpised that z wasnt flashing MIL for imminent converter fire.

im hoping its bad gas. or at least nothing to bad. it runs fine now. which is really weird.

Solid check engine is mainly there to warn of potential loss of ECM's ability to maintain emissions levels within 1.5 times the federally mandated emissions levels. Flashing means worse and potential catalyst fire. Performance and emissions output don't go hand in hand after a point. Check the codes as they pop up incase something more important goes. You have a free range VQ now, enjoy it. I wonder if the Uprev tuning at least uses the A/F calculation from the O2 signal to achieve optimum injector pulse width or just runs as rich as possible for MAF/TCS etc calcs?
