Default Sputtering/Jerking RPM Solution

2004 MT Touring - 78k

Hey just wanted to post this because it may come in handy to some people.

Awhile back my Z would sputter and jerk very badly if driven in the rain or right after.

It got to the point that if I put the car in neutral the rpm's would drop all the way down and the engine would die.

It has a NISMO Cold Air Intake so i did my research and thought maybe the cold air intake combined with the atmospheric conditions of it raining was throwing off the MAF.

I cleaned my MAF and now it does not jerk/sputter or die in the rain.

Anyone seen this before?

Tip of the day dont bother buying full CAI cant wash your car or drive in/after it rains

I've got a full Injen CAI. It came on the car when I bought it. I've never had these issues in the rain or after. When I bought a new filter 1 year later, Injen offered a hydroshield that wraps around the filter... so a filter for the filter. Still no problems.
