Replace the fans. Fairly easy DIY - much easier than getting beat on by a pregnant wife, lol.

I think they have some kind of recall abt the clutch fan?
how many miles is it? check the recall and see whether you qualify. If not replace it. Shldn't be that hard.

Probably a pressure switch issue. If the system thinks there isn't any freon it won't allow the compressor to come on.

Call dealer, give VIN, see if fan has been replaced under recall.

Found this nifty secret handshake for the IPDM to go into diagnostics mode. I've never tried it. Looks like it exercises both the radiator fans and the A/C clutch.

Edit: Tried it on my '07. Kind of cool. Make sure you put your hood down and your wipers up.

get something to tap the clutch and engage the clutch while the AC button is ON, im wondering if there is a gap check thats too big on your clutch due to how old/mileage your car has?

check the service manual for a gap check on the clutch?

Bingo:

if when you tap the clutch, it engages and pops out later or after driving, etc...then the gap has grown to big...retorque, re-gap..check with feeler gauge and ensure (.010-.024 inch).

check atc.pdf in the service manual, search magnet clutch - there is a trouble shoot guide, that leads down to replacing the unimeter which is the all white box that connects under the AC controls in the center console...

good luck,
