is there anyway to open the throttle (and hold it) with the engine off?

 

1. Get wife/gf or gullible friend
2. remove intake
3. have person from step one push the TB plate open
4. tell them not to release, else your car may break and it will be their fault
5. do what you need to do
6. let them release
7. win

Sounds like he wants to clean the tb, fuel system cleaner etc.

 

Why?Only thing I can think of is to clean the throttle body .

i got rid of my standard microswitch and installed a tps switch when i made some changes to my nitrous system. trying to adjust it while im driving isnt working very well. i was afraid if i touched the blade it would mess up the tb calibration. im gonna try it anyway and just be really careful

i couldnt make it work with the engine off... but thats ok... i ended up just revving it in the driveway. it was early morning when i was doing this earlier and didnt wanna wake the neighbors up revving my car. its late afternoon now and everything works good with the new switch. first time using the nano kit with the nitrous... the car scoots!

 

you would have to turn the ignition on.

 

i had the gf holding it open when i kicked the key on and it snapped shut on her. she was too afraid to continue to fool with it after that lol. its all good, im glad it works now.

 

Hmm.

I definitely taught my haltech after i rebuilt my TB by having the ignition on and pushed the throttle plate back.
