Hey guys. So as some of you know, I bought a Z earlier this week. It began to make some strange sounds so I decided to troubleshoot.

As of now, I know that I need a new lower motor mount and new belts.

Anyway, I decided to run a scanner and this is what I got:



Is this normal? Keep in mind, these are the reading at idle after a cold start in 81 degree weather lol

UPDATE: I'm also hearing engine knock really... it only happens at low RPMs... I just got an oil change with Motorcraft 5W-30 synthetic (not my choice) a couple of days ago. Is the oil really that bad? Perhaps I need to change it again. I have an 06 6MT ZR if that makes a difference.

 

A video of the sound I'm getting. It's most likely just due to the belts that need to be changed. What you don't hear is the slight knocking sound I hear in lower RPMs. It sounds like I'm low on oil but I just got an oil change a couple of days ago..

do a compression, leak down, and change belt then report back.
