Default 400$ spark plug change why?

60 dollars for plugs and 340$ in labor... that's the average price for dealers and import only shops... why? From the looks of the diy you remove the coil pack on each sparkplug and unscrew the sparkplug and reverse order... I understand its tight... I guess ill find out this weekend... I find this ridiculous... I miight just post a service up on craigslist and charge people half the labor

Knock it out yourself:

I have a shop next to my job and I needed the plugs and wires changed in my Cherokee so I thought I would drop it off and have it done while I was at work because I was being lazy. They wanted to charge me $120 in labor for $20 worth of parts I had already purchased...I respectfully asked for my keys back and did it myself that weekend.

I removed the plastic engine cover so I can change mine without removing the strut bar. Intake has to be removed but it's a lot easier if you leave the plastic cover off after the 1st time.

Sounds like they are overcharging. Alldata labor time for those is only 1.8hrs of labor time

labor is a b!tch....

I remember when I was comparing prices on installing my coils...ended up doing it myself

never again will I consider paying for labor if the job is within my limits..
