Default P0300 Random engine Misfire

PLEASE help me!!!!!

I noticed that My 2003 350z was driving horribly, It sounded like a fart cannon and there was absolutely no power in my car, aside from that it was running really rough and the car shook wayy too much.

My problem,

I did a compression test on my car in class (dumb idea fml will never do that again) and after I got all my spark plugs in my car just sounded horrible :/ it didnt have the nice VQ sound it has. Aside from that, There was smoke coming from my engine and a lot of smoke coming from my exhaust. The smoke from the exhaust smells like gasoline, and my engine smells like something I have never smelled before. The smoke is white (coolant?) the smoke went into my cabin.

I decided to limp it home, but as I slowed down my car to a stop light, my car would shut off, and no I didnt stall my car. I had my mechanic look at it. everything looked fine. my spark plugs looked ok and my connections to my ignition coils were connected fine. He could not find anything wrong with it.

I did some research and it looks like my problem has a number of problems.

All I got out was I had a bad fuel injector, or bad valve timing. But i know valve timing has its own code P0011. And it did not throw me the code. Does anyone have more insight on this? especially because this happened right after I did my compression test?

oh I forgot to mention, while I was doing my compression test. My car smelled like a lot of Gasoline.

My only two conclusions are. Head Gasket? and Fuel injector. I am not too savvy with diagnosing cars. but I am really hoping to get someone elses 5 cents on this. PLease help!! I don't know what to do! I dont want to take it to the stealership!!

I had the same code. For me, it was a leaky injector. Pull all the spark plugs out one by one and look for the black one. Change the corresponding injector. Total cost was around $200, but I had bought all new seals for the injectors on the rail I pulled off, new gaskets for the intake plenum, and finally the cost of the injector itself.

Good luck!

my guess would be incorrect wiring to the coil packs. i've read multiple cases of people wiring up the wrong wire to the wrong coil packs. will through off proper firing order and cause the engine to run rough + the p0300 code. since you had unplugged all of these wires right before, it seems more logical than some other part going bad at that particular moment.

hndu!

Thank you!
It looks like that was partially the problem! I re arranged the wiring to the coil packs!
I had 4 and 6 wrong :/

however the problem still comes up.

I still feel like there is a slight misfire. I can feel that all my power is still there, but it is still missing something. Such as 90% of ther power.

I hear through forums that the Gas still needs to burn off because of the misfire, the fuel injector was not pumping at the right time. So I have to get all the gas out of the cylindars I assume? My car is a lot less smoky now, but still smells like gas.

any theories to this? I still have yet to check if the code is still going off, regardless; my car is still a tad bit funky. Thanks for all your help you guys

If you mixed up your firing order, there's a strong likelihood that you did some permanent damage to your engine. That kind of detonation can destroy pistons, valves, bearings, rings, seals, you name it. Get someone who knows what they're doing to do a PROPER comparative compression test with a scope and go from there. I hate to say it, but based on your self-described skill level, you shouldn't be sticking your head under the hood of your car.

Have you inspected the spark plugs yet?

This is extreme but possible. How far was the drive after you installed the coilpacks incorrectly.

Also why in the world wouldn't you suspect you did something wrong when you just touched the car?
