Default 350z trouble

Hi, Just picked up a 2003 350z 72k miles. Great car love the looks but has had trouble with it. When i go to start the car 50/50 percent of the time it will start. The other time it will go chug chug chug chug (like what i did there?) and do it again. I will have to wait again to start the car. Anyone have a clue what this could be?

Need more info, check engine light? Sounds like a fuel issue.

Went to auto parts place. Ran codes and said it was the cam pos sensor or the trottle control motor relay. Any of that sound right?

If you cam position sensor is faulty, that will definitely cause starting issues.

Get the code and it will tell you all you need to know and if there are anymore pending codes.

My cam sensors went out but it was under warranty. I think they cost around $800 at the dealer.

$80.00 each and 20 minute install for the passenger side, 30-40 for the drivers side as you have to remove the intake tube to get at it. If the dealer charges $800 I hope that comes with vaseline!

I was about to say $800!! yeah i got a quote around $90 for it. Would you go with the cam sensors? or would it be more of the trottle control? That should play a big factor in starting the car right?
