Default Need Help to Identify part on passenger electric seats...

Hi guys, a very happy new year to everyone.

My passenger seats died on me just before Christmas last year and I found out the reason for it was the damaged gear? from overheating or something. It looks to me like part of it is melted.

According to my mechanic the whole electrical component is still functioning and it is this gear that prevents my seats from moving forward or backwards. Can someone be kind enough to help me identify this component so I can purchase them?

I brought it back to the Nissan dealer and the refused to sell me only the replacement for the broken gear, and insist that it has to come together with the whole electrical board/ system and it will cost me about USD2000 after conversion. No way I'm paying for it...

Appreciate if anyone can help me out with it.

You can try calling Courtesy Nissan Parts to see if they'll throw you a bone. Unfortunately, the parts counter has to sell it to you the way it's packaged from the factory; they have no real choice in the matter.

To be honest, your only option might be a visit to your local Pick-a-Part.

Have a friend with a g35 coupe his did the same thing. Was told the same thing at the dealer. He found a speedo gear supplier that provided the gear he needed, I will reach out to him and try to get the name of the source. Less than 10 bucks for the gear, I think. Well just heard from my friend, try a company called "odometer" was mistaken about price though $65.00, still better than new motor. odometer.com
