I have a 04, with 6670 miles and thank God I have not had any problems, but if something comes up you all will know!!!!!!!!!!!
I bought my car 10/25/03----- it was built 9/03. So I think I got all the problems that the 03 resolved.

My '04 is only 6 weeks old with 1500 miles, but no problems whatsoever. Seems you're onto something--'03 must've been a bad year. Maybe it pays to wait on a new model.

if you read a few pages back in the tire feathering thread there is one individual that has an 04 that has had the problem with the feathering. i believe he was close to 10k miles or something like that. problem with the 04 when i asked my service manager to compare it to my 03, is that there is no difference. the only adjustment that can be made to the front is the toe in, and the tire feathering seems to be rooted in the toe, camber and suspension combined. the latter two on the Z you can not adjust.

Took delivery Dec. 1. It was drifting to the right when I got it. Took it in and so far it runs straight. 1300 miles and no problems yet. Enthusiast AT

My '04 had the seat TSB done, I have a nasty second gear grind when cold and twice now the car wouldn't start after sitting for more than one day, had to have it towed to dealership twice. This is my punishment for not buying another Honda.

Two major rattles. The driver's door or window buzzes and the silver plastic piece on the rear strut clicks like there is no tomorrow. Nothing mechanical. October production.

'04 Enth, with July 2003 build date.

Tranny replaced at roughly 4000 miles and tire feathering is getting bad at 7000 miles. I drive rather conservatively too...haven't done any canyon runs, dragged, or tracked my car at all. 80% on freeway, and the rest are on city streets. As for the tranny, I didn't have any grinding, and basically asked the service tech to check out the funky howling noise in 5th gear while my car was in for an oil change.

Been driving a stick shift for 17 years with no prior clutch/transmission problems (one car for 10 years straight), so that rules out user error.

I know a few folks who have Z's that didn't even know they had a problem until I pointed it out to them. The tire feathering is mostly noticeable to the car enthusiast at low mileage because we are sort of obsessed with tire health. Other than that, it's only noticeable when the problem gets extremely bad...12K miles +

'04 Enthusiast 6MT ~300 miles

Gas filler unlock button was loose and fell into the dash the first time I pressed it..

I also had a problem filling the car up.. After about 50% full, the pump kept clicking.. took me about 10 mins to fill from that point. No angle or position seemed to work for the nozzle. I was afraid to get splashed. It was my first fill up..

Very slight pull to the right.. I suppose it's still too soon to see feathering

Tranny feels fine.. no other problems... but I'm getting a little worried about quality.. My previous car was an Audi A4

'04 Touring 6M Silverstone

450 miles old

My tach needle got stuck while doing some light city driving the other day. It froze at about 2000rpm for a few shifts and then just kicked back in again. Wierd.

I think this is an isolated incident though.

Had the same problem with the car...seems to be the only problem so far. My tach needle got stuck twice on my way home from work the other day (about a 29 mile commute) at around 1000 - 2000 rpm. I haven't seen this happen before & the problem hasn't happened again in the past 2 days since. 5,000 miles - '04 Enthusiast Roadster 5AT.

I thought I had a rattle in my rear strut bar area as well a few weeks ago. Turns out that I did not tighten my license plate well enough and it was rattling. What a relief!!

2004 DB 5AT with just over 1,000 miles. No real problems yet (although the posts on this board are starting to scare me).
