I have an 03 Nissan 350z with 102k miles on it. I checked the codes and I have a knock sensor code that popped up so I know I have to replace that but im not sure if thats whats causing the car to stall after starting it up when the engine is hot. However, when the car is cold it starts normally and idles normally however, after driving it and the car gets hot, once I turn off the car and start it back up while it is hot, the car revs up and continues to die down and stalls. When I press on the gas a little bit in this situation it goes to a normal idle and drives perfectly. has anybody got this type of problem and knows how to solve it? much help is appreciated.

 

What worked for me was cleaning the throttle body. I have no idea why but try it, might be an easy fix.

 

I cleaned that but maybe I didn't clean it correctly? I will try it again thanks!

 

do you have an aftermarket intake? i know my popcharger likes to get moisture in it and then the car dies occasionally.

 

No It's a stock intake came with the car when I bought it

 

Have you checked the injectors? My Z would stall sometimes when i started it a while back and it was due to dirty injectors. Some injector cleaner did the trick, but its a temporary fix until you can get them fully cleaned.

 

hmmm never checked the injectors so I will do so and see how that turns up. Did your car do the same when its hot start it dies after unless you rev it up a little bit?

 

My car would stall on a cold start. But if i revved it right after i turned it on, it would stay on. On occasion it would stall on a hot start. Cleaned the injectors and now i have no more problem.

 

hmmm I will try cleaning the injectors so with the throttle and see how they go thanks Ill post if any of these worked
