Default Smoking when accelerating? Help!

So I have an 05 bone stock 350z, bought it from a customer at my dads shop already smoking.

It smokes blueish/white smoke, burns an excessive amount of oil. I believe only one cylinder is filled with carbon build up, just can't find out where or how to approach the problem.
It will completely fry the spark plug on cyl. 5 every few weeks or if I push the car.

On low gears such as 1, 2, 3 it will smoke past 2000 rpm but on higher ones or on the highway, after I stop accelerating it won't smoke anymore.

This is my first post here, thanks in advance.

Vehicle has 135k, relatively certain its not the coils but I'll bite. Why do you think it's the coils?

If I were to guess, blue smoke generally indicates a bad valve seal.

and/or piston rings

Either way, it sounds like this car is due for a rebuild/swap. Check the compression and let us know what you get

These are my guesses, but the only thing that has me curious is the fact that only ONE cylinder is causing this.

I'm hoping its buildup somewhere, or if someone else has a familiar problem. I'm trying to avoid taking the head out for now, hoping there's a simpler fix. I can't imagine why only one cylinder is doing this and has been for over a year (with the previous owner).

Cracked rings or ring-lands often occur in just one or two cylinders, unless there was a catastrophic event. You would still do the same rebuild if it were all of them, so it doesnt change anything

Id be willing to bet that you have significantly decreased compression on the cylinder. Compression test will take you ~half an hour on this car, the gauge is cheap and can be found at almost any parts store.

Not too suprising to have only one cylinder issue....a compression test will tell you for sure...

When my stock block was dying I did a compression test and all the numbers were good except for cylinder 2 with low compression, so it isn't out of the ordinary...

Got the gauge at my dads shop, will test when I go back. He's really only familiar with old Z's, wasn't aware that it was ordinary for these cars to have single cylinder compression issues.

Thank you to you both, much appreciated.

Aware sir.
2 quarts every time I put gas is not normal oil consumption lol.
Its burning excess oil because of the same reason that its smoking.
