Default Troubleshoot blown tail lamp fuse.

My tail lamp fuse in my 04.5 keeps blowing. Do you guys know how to trouble shoot the issue? I have already unplugged the tail lights, license plate lights, and side markers, fuse keeps blowing. My illumination **** does not work either. I am going to start tracing wires tomorrow does anyone have any tips?

Does the bulb blow immediately when plugged in or do you have to turn on the lights? You can check with a multimeter and measure resistance across the connectors to make sure that the connector doesn't have a short. Anything else and, as you said, you will need to trace wires to make sure that the shielding hasn't been compromised and is grounding out on the body.

It's the fuse that blows. The 10A for the parking lights. It blows when I turn the lights on. The bulbs are fine, I just removed them. I did notice it happened after I hit a bump so I will be pulling the deck and checking connections. Sucks in a G coupe. I'll report back with my findings.

Doesn't seem like it has to do with the parking lights. I am now going to check the illumination wires since they share the same fuse.

It ended up being the illumination system. Illumination is tied into the same fuse as parking lights. The seat heaters don't work since I did a 5AT to 6MT swap. I guess the switches operate differently. Problem SOLVED!
