I was driving yesterday and my car took me out of gear and the "Check Engine Soon" light came on. I was unable to put my car back into gear and my Engine gauge was on HOT. After a little bit, I made it to the mechanic. But on the way there, I heard like water sounds while I was driving, swishing back and forth.

I'm not a car expert and I just wanted to know if this has happened to anyone else or what the issue may be.

2008 - 350Z - manual

 

how could your car take you out of gear if it is a manual?

 

Beats the heck out of me. I was in 5th gear and it forced it back into neutral, without me even touching it.
