Default Chipped Taillight fixable?

Hey guys, this guy is selling a pair of rear LED taillights for $240, but one of the corners is chipped. He has the pieces and says I can glue them back on. Do you think that would even work? Would we see a white residue underneath where I glue it in? Let me know, Thanks in advance!

That's a pretty big "chip." Was it pulled from a wreck or was it damaged after he pulled it off the car (i.e., dropped)? You can glue it back on, but if you're as **** as I am, you'll always notice it. I'd see if he's willing to negotiate on the price due to the damage.

P.S., if you do buy it, don't use plastic superglue. Anything with synthetic cyanide in it will fog up the surrounding area. You'll need to use a clear 2-part plastic epoxy, which means you'll need to work quickly. The epoxy should set you back about $15.

I wouldn't use superglue (for the reason mentioned above) or epoxy. Go to a hobby shop and get the liquid glue (comes in a small bottle with a brush in the cap) for assembling plastic model cars. This sort of glue will actually melt the pieces together and form a strong permanent bond. Apply sparingly, and if you're careful, and no pieces are missing, the repair should be nearly invisible.

I just emailed him about it, I'll update this when he replies. I am very **** about my car and notice everything. My friend has a lot of epoxy I could use. Thanks for the heads up zak, I'll try to see how low i can go, his post said the price was firm so I'll probably offer in person. How much would you pay for these zak?

K51, the glue you're talking about sounds very clean to use, do you know what it's called? Not many hobbyshops where I am lol, all ran out of business.

Might be able to find it at Wal-Mart in the toy section, or an arts & crafts store (like Michael's). It is also available with a hollow needle applicator.

Okay, so it was chipped from shipping, no wonder he has all the pieces. Hmm, now its the debate as to how badly noticeable it will be when i glue it on...

240 for both, even though chipped is a good price. Or buy one and then wait for the other
