Default Problem starting car! Help please

So I just bought an 05 Z this week and for the past day or so I've been having a problem starting the car. The car doesn't attempt to turn over, fuel pump turns on, and if I move the shifter from park to neutral it will start sometimes. If it doesn't start in neutral I can push the shifter slightly forward (while remaining in neutral) and it will start. From what I've gathered it is the neutral safety switch. Is there another way to adjust the shifter postion and cable? A new switch is $24, should I just replace it? Also where is the neutral safety switch located on an automatic transmission. The problem has become very annoying. Thanks for any help!

Well I've tried adjusting the rod directly under the shifter which connects to the transmission but no luck. Any suggestions?
