Those were released 12-19-03 so they are pretty new.

Feel free to print them out and show the guys at your dealer.

Dr. Bonz,
If I spray some Zaino on the tread of the feathered tire, will this cure the problem?
Hahahaha.

Actually yes it will. You will more than likely slide into something, thus totaling your car and VOILA! No more feathering!

This reminds me of that thread on another car message board where the guy put Armour All on his ENTIRE tire! Yes, that's right, the tread surface too. He slid and wrecked his car.

Anyone remember where that was?

I remember that thread. Very funny. I bet he cleans the soles of your shows with WD40.

Bonz, nice job. My car is currently in for feathering, hope it comes out okay.

By the way, looks like your Stealth model could use a little work still.

What do you think of requesting that the dealer only do the alignment and not touch the tire. I have heard complaints by others that they get their rims scratched when they unmount / mount the tires. If the feathering is going to go away if it's on the outside, it should go away if it's left on the inside anyway right ?

I don't think I understand your question. You really can't leave the feathered inner tread where it is because your car will still ROAR when you brake under 20-30 MPH. You can get it aligned but the feathering will still be there. You may slow down it's progression but it's still there.

I was thinking that with the alignment corrected, the feathering would slowly go away. Normal wear would take care of the feathering...

I got a few small gouges too. Not really enough to worry about as they are barely noticable unless your face is right down there by the rim.

The tire feathering TSB's were issued for the 2003 and 2004 models.
