Hi guys....is the newbie here again....

anyway i have a question that have been bothering me for several months....i have no idea why my check engine light is on and off all the time....and then i have taken it back to the dealer for several times already ...and i also went to my mechanic to check ...my car is running totally fine and all the maintance have been done also....

the dealer said that my check engine light goes on is b/c i have a aftermarket DVD player...i thought that was totally BS....but kinda weird that after i reset the light couple times....the light will still go back on like after 20 miles.....

so what do u guys think???? O2 senser is loose? or something gone bad???? b/c my car drive normal and all the mechanic said my car is running perfect..

so please help

i have no clue too man .....but if anything major than i would notice already...but nth really goes wrong...except the light is on all the time.....

 

are you doing the reset procedure or just restarting the car?

have you tried removing the battery over night?

 

i did reset and remove the negative side of the battery too...but after usually 20 miles or a day ...then it comes back on....aii....

 

Are you putting the gas cap on tight enough?

uh i dont think an aftermarket dvd player would throw a cel. what mods do you have? any changes in oil pressure or performance while the cel is on?

 

check for codes might be o2

 

The only way to know for sure is to pull the code. Autozone or Advance will do this for free.

I had a CEL a while back and I just needed a new gas cap. CEL gone

 

i guess i will go to autozone and let it check then....will update u guys...
