Water sitting in spare wheel well. Help!
Hey everyone,
After it rains for a couple days I will sometimes notice a moldy smell. Last night I got to fishing around in the hatch and found the problem. I have water sitting in my spare wheel well. Ive searched but couldnt find much info. Some info here, I have 06+ LED tails in it, so they are not the factory tails, maybe its leaking there? Also, the carpet in the hatch is dry as can be, water it somehow just getting to the bottom of the wheel well and just sitting there. Last night I cleaned it up, and it rained over night, checked it this morning, and water is back, Im just looking for help on where it would be coming in at, i cant seem to find a distinct spot.
Any help is appreciated, id like to figure this out asap.
Thanks

Thanks, Ill check it out. Do you know if its on the passenger side? I noticed there were a few different grommets in the wheel well. Another weird factor is that the after I got the water out last night, my car never moved all night and the water was back in this morning after an overnight rain. So it wasnt even driven, would it still leak from that harness connection from just sitting there?
Had same problem. Just found out that one of the air vents in the back corner of the trunk had a bad seal.
Remove all trim and you'll propably find you have the same issue.
Just ordered replacement part....
Grtz

It was obvious one of the vents was bad since it was not seated properly in the body and the rubber seal was partly missig.
Used the old 'spray with water from outside' method to make double sure that was the culprit and that confirmed the leakage location.
Ordered part from local dealer at 58,- euro per piece
Good luck!

Do you have the part number for this? Any one have a video or photo of what I'm looking for, experiencing the same issue
