Im here today looking for some advice on a problem that has came up and is annoying me. Bought my Z back in Feb. and it has always been so smooth you couldn't tell it was even running when it was at idle. About 2 weeks ago my Dad was riding with me one morning and he heard a noise while we were sitting at a red light. I didn't notice it until he pointed it out. We did a little diagnosing today and notice it was more noticeable under the car than under the hood. We will put the car on ramps tomorrow and continue figuring out the problem. I can hear it in the car and every time im at a red light i listen for the noise and it's driving me nuts. It's not effecting the performance at all but just bothers me since I enjoy the car so much and dont want it to get worse.

Noise doesn't get louder when RPM's are increased. Only at a standstill i can hear the noise.

not the greatest video but sounds like clutch chatter and when its happening makes it sound even more so

 

I do experience some clutch chatter but that is not the noise i am hearing. I wasn't able to have the clutch pedal pushed in for the video of course which would have helped point out the noise better.

 

What noise ?
