Hesitation, sputter, stumble!
Hey guys, I have searched and prodded every relevant thread and while some problems are close to mine none is exact. 2007 Touring 47k mi AT just purchased. Sometimes and NOT all the time but enough to bother me under LIGHT throttle no matter the speed or the gear the car "stumbles" for just an instant. Like the car is twitching for some speed! But seriously if I hit wot it doesn't stutter at all and as long as i am above idle ~1100 rpms it wont do it. I have done the throttle position reset and that didnt help. I didnt notice it until after i bought the car. yeah ikr. but I was hoping that it was just some bad fuel that had sat at the dealer maybe? No luck have ran two tanks through her and still the same. Tonight Im going to do the battery ECU reset (which resets the fuel maps from what I understand) and I hope that will Help Can yall give me any advice? Oh and NO CEL! And it does it in D and manualmatic as well.
Hook your car up to a scantool that shows live data and check your absolute throttle position and your accelerator pedal position (absolute). If you're getting abnormal readings, then there's your problem. Also, check the butterfly valves on your throttles for carbon build-up. They may need to be cleaned (follow the FSM procedure and use the recommended cleaner or you may end up ruining your throttles). Finally, when was the last time you changed or inspected your air filters?
Possible camshaft position sensor, may not throw a CEL immediately, but still can cause problems. If the car ever stalls at idle, or while driving seems to "stall for an instant" like you describe, I would look into this.
Zak and oldschool were right on the money. Just bought the car figured i could rule out air filter/maf well thats BS, 125 point inspection my rear end. was completely black and there was leaves and dog food! yes dog food. DOG FOOD. I am going to have it out with the dealer in the morning. Pics just to show you the absurdity. I can understand the leaves. The dog food? In both Boxes? What other "points" did they miss?

You should tell the guy who sold you the car to eat the dog food for claiming it was inspected. You should at least complain to the Attorney General in your state and to the BBB to let them know that the dealership is making false claims about performing inspections on used cars.
