Exclamation 2006 350z Tail Lights and Parking lights not working!!!!

OK, so the title states it. I have checked all 3 fuse boxes. the kick panel in the interior, the little short one in front of the battery, and the "secret hidden" one. In that "secret" one, the fuse that controls the lights was blown. replaced it, and as soon as i turned on my lights, it blew immidiately. It even blew a 15 and a 20 fuse. Really dont know what it could be, but ive seen some people on here say there is a ground wire that could be bad. does anyone have any ideas on this, or any schematics to where the ground wires to the tail lights/parking lights are?? thank you

My best guess is one of your headlight's ballast is bad or you have a frayed wire somewhere. I had this issue recently but it was due to me having halos, my inverter went bad. If you have some fuses to spare you can try unplugging each headlight at a time and turning them on to see which side blows the fuse. That will will you a general idea of where to start.

The fact that your fuse blew immediately means you have a short somewhere. You need to trace the wiring and see where the problem is.

Yeah it sounds like a short or something.

I tried this, and it still blew on each side. It blows a 10, 15, 20 and a 25!! I'm pretty sure the warranty covers this, but I'm not the one to just say **** it and take it to them right away. I did check the wires while checking the headlights, and while everything does look 100% great, I know it caan be more than that

Does it blow with both headlights unplugged?

I thought you said the parking lights and taillights were not working. Why are you checking your headlights? Are they not working as well?

Hellman_X had said that the ballasts in the headlights cold be causing the short somewhere. and yes. with both unplugged, it still blows. the headlights themselves do work. HB and LB. but the running lights, tail lights, and license plate lights do not work. however, when you press the brakes, they lioght up, and the hazards work, as well as the turn signals

You're definitely shorting out.

I agree with Korner, trace the wires and find it.

FOUND IT!!!!!!! Somebody on a facebook 350z forum said he had this problem and it was an aftermarket head unit that had wires laying in the back grounding out. Sure enough, i had that problem. Re-wired the harness, taped off all unnecessary wires, and my tail lights work. Thanks guys!

Where is that "little secret" fuse location ? I am new to this car and I can only find the one at the bat and in the kick panel. I am also having a problem, my driver's side headlight is out and the bulb is good. The ballast must be the round unit mounted on the shell ? Would I just check for power coming to the bulb from that to check if it were still working ? Anything else ?
