Default Tire Pressure Lights

Hey guys,

My z has quite a few miles on her (121k)- every time that i drive over an hour straight the tire pressure light comes on. If you turn the car off and one, like at a rest stop, the light goes off. Then it come back on in another hour. I have checked the pressure and its at 32psi. Anyone know whats up?

I have had the same issue in my 03 for months now and even when I switch to another set of wheels with new tire pressure sensors the same thing happens. My solution has been to ignore it...

The batteries in your sensors could be going bad. The batteries only last for around 5 years.

That same thing happened to me twice yesterday. All was fine with the pressures. I think if it loses communication for a moment it triggers the light and clears with the next drive cycle. I tend to ignore it but it always sucks when the tire light appears.

So when you toggle thru you display and look at tire pressure they are still good. If you have one that dropped off, that is the one that needs to be replaced. My drivers front is falling off after about 30 minutes of driving. I will just remove all the TPMS soon.

Mine lasted for 10+years but last week one of them came apart as I was adding air due to the cold temps lately. The valve itself had corroded and came apart. Had it replaced immediately with just a plain valve stem, and of course, halfway to to Cincy yesterday the light came on. Same thing happens when I put the Blizzaks/stock wheels on in the winter, no TPMS on those anymore, but I don't drive too many long trips in winter anyway. Will get the TPMS valve replaced this winter, going to get the SSR's powdercoated anyway so rubber will come off. As said, just ignore the light.

Check the spare tire pressure under the trunk. Needs like 60 psi, got to read the tire pressure rating.

temporary-use mini-spares require 60 psi to develop enough load capacity to carry the vehicle.
