So you're implying that I paid someone on this forum for their advice?

Have fun scrolling through my history troll.

OK… I’m thinking you are one of those people who post when they have no idea. An analysis of your posts supports a lack of knowledge.

You talk about mice causing a problem with a car, lack knowledge about codes, and generally seem ignorant about car repair.

--Spike
Ignorant about car repair? I take a common sense approach as opposed to over-thinking things. Do you honestly think mice can't cause problems?

BTW, the TPS can not be adjusted, there's no need to change any sensor just because it has over 80,000 miles, and I'm still waiting for you to tell me who said anything about vacuum.

As you can see Spike, I don't have to troll your profile to see that you have no idea, it's all right here in this thread!

Sorry bud, but I'm not going anywhere. I'll admit, I don't have a lot of Z specific knowledge, but my obd2 and general knowledge of modern vehicles is more than sufficient for me to avoid paying for any services. I've also had quite a bit of success on the Titan forum, as well as the other Z car forum, so maybe you should just mind your business and stop being so insecure.
The only thing that's kept me from this forum is people like you.
And who are you to decide if I'm knowledgeable or not? So far all you've done in this thread is troll me.

I guess I'll be a man now and apologize.......to solidsnake. Sorry for crapping on your thread.
I only wanted to make my point clear, which is as follows:

When a car has symptoms with no codes you start with things like dry gas, cleaning the maf etc. You also look for anything obvious. Unless you have a lot of disposable income you do not start buying parts and hoping the problem goes away. You take the simple approach at first, then go from there to begin ruling out the easiest and cheapest possibilities first. If that doesn't work you continue, and by then hope there's a code in the ecu.

I came here to help, and yes I will also need help at some point myself. I don't want to get in any pissin' matches here, but it's hard to ignore someone when they say (for example) that you should change sensors at 80,000 miles. Hall effect sensors either work or they don't work, period.

I would also like to apologize to the rest of you since I will, without a doubt, need your assistance at some point in time.

Well thank you, I try to keep my cool, but sometimes that just doesn't work. I'll never claim to know everything, and I will admit when I'm wrong.

some of us like poking fun at some of the newbies, take it with a grain of salt and dont lose sleep over it. we are a wealth of info, but i know that i will stop helping someone that comes across as cocky or a know it all

Yep, that's kind of how I feel, and some people have probably recently seen how my first few posts went.....I'm not so proud of them lol. The whole forum thing was new to me back then, now I'm a member of several.

BTW, nice Z. I like them clean and simple.

Get a gasket part number 16175-ar000 and reference page EM-17 in the fsm. Take it off clean it good, be careful not to drop it, reinstall, do the whole accel/tb/idle learning procedure then your good. If u don't want to take it off just do your best to clean it by moving the butterfly and using tb cleaner.

I am going to do this tomorrow. Got gasket and will clean the throttle body. And the relearn. I hope it helps. I want to avoid buying a new one. And pray it's not that APS sensor. I am thinking it's throttle body for sure because on a cold start the RPMs sometimes drop and the car will die unless I engage the clutch. That sounds like a throttle body issue right?

When mine was dirty and giving me problems my idle was inconsistent. Not sure about the clutch thing but I just suggested this because the part is cheap and it's easy to do. Process of elimination. Good luck.

Cleaned it and fixed the problem but now it's idling a little high. Just over 1k. I tried the relearn thing and now my SES light is on. I unplugged negative for 15min but might have to go to dealer to get it all settled.
