Default 350z lights problem

guys i got my 350z not too long ago so i dont know much about it, when i put my key in the ignition switch and turn the light switch once my dash lights up, but no other lights outside my car turn on even when i turn the switch to the second position no lights turn on, i have to switch it to the third position and then my headlights turn on, my side marker lights on each side of the front bumper dont turn on, also idk what these lights are called they are a small transparent bulb right next to the high beams on each side, idk what those lights are but they dont turn on either no matter what i do. Can you guys give me some insight on this because idk whats wrong, also can you guys explain to me when each of those lights are supposed to turn on and what makes them turn on thanks

Holy run on sentence Batman. Try some punctuation and it will be much easier to read your question.

Miamiguy, the first turn of the light switch should turn on the front park lights, the taillights, license plate light and the instrument lights. A second additional turn of the switch should add the headlights to all of the above.

Since your car is 10 years old, and who knows what kind of hell has been wrought upon the wiring system by previous owners, it will be hard for anybody to diagnose online. However, most of these lighting functions are normally under the control of the Intelligent Power Control module buried deep in behind the battery. Google “free Nissan 350Z service manual download”, for test procedures of this module. (Be aware that it’s kind of complicated.)

The other lights are parking/running lights and they should be activated with the first detent. It sounds as though the previous owner may have modded or damaged the wiring harness itself. You'll need to find a tech with the backgound and tools in electrical repair to handle this repair. Be ready to pay for some OEM parts to get your lights to function properly again.

it is unlikely but it could be possible the light bulbs are burned out. Change out one with a known good one to at least eliminate that possibility

before you start going all crazy with diags, just check all the fuses, not sure how the lights are setup on a diagram but sometimes the most random things go out with fuses
