Default Smog test fail. HELP.

Hi my350z forum. this is my first post in this forum. i just got my z and it's great! i've always wanted one and now i have one. anyway, i went to have it smogged today and it failed. no CEL on dash but on the OBD it says catalyst not ready. the car is an 05 6MT. the car just passed smog last august from the previous owner. any ideas on what this is? emissions are okay.

If you need new cats, check with the dealership first. I am thinking there is a federal law requiring car manufacturers to warranty catalytic converters for 10 years/100,000 miles.

I doubt that. The smog regulations in most states have been getting looser and looser for the past several years.
