Default Oil Guage PSI High After Oil Change

Hi all,

About 2 nights ago my oil gauge was high, almost to 120. Then a day later it exceeded it. I got a new oil change this morning with amsoil and it still is past 120. I drove for about 15 miles on it after the change. This has never happened. Is there an issue? I recall the mechanics saying I was low on oil with the dip stick. They added about 5-6 bottles of oil. Is there something wrong with the engine, such as oil burning fast? Am I able to live with this and continue my every 5k oil change? If I want peace of mind how should I fix this gauge problem? Thanks a lot.

The OEM oil press gauge is not accurate. I think Nissan put it there just for decoration.

What weight oil? When it reads very high, what is engine speed and what is temperature outside? Is the high reading only when the engine is relatively cold?

What in the fck is up with this da thread. Um maybe give us info. Why would they add 5-6bottles of oil? That sounds like it's overfilled. Why were you low on oil? How long was the previous oil change interval? This is info people need to help. How many miles? What mods? How did they measure your oil that they drained out?

Help guys my dick is huge. What should I do?

Oil pressure sending unit, check out rockauto.com. This is a common problem as mentioned previously. The sending unit cost about $50.00, take care not to over tighten or cross thread.

You can ignore it if you choose, however, if something were to go wrong with you oil pump, how would you know?. This is a $65.00 fix and yes, many of us have had to deal / correct this problem.
