Default Engine knocking/squeal

Did a donut today, lasted about 15ish seconds. As I'm driving away, the car dies. I go to start back up, and it's making a horrible knock/squeal noise, and low oil pressure light is on. I pull over to parking lot, let it sit for 10 mins, and start again, sound is still there.

I then pushed it by hand into a parking spot, and while pushing it, it makes a squealing sound, as if the ebrake was on but it's not.

I am going to have it taken to mechanic Monday, but I cannot understand what could have happened. It was nothing the car Should not have been able to do/ hasn't done before. 5-6.5k Rpms it reached at most, so I can't understand how it would have broken anything internally in the engine. Checked the oil, and it's fine. Oil and coolant was plenty warmed up, had been running for 1+ hour.

06 mt 193k miles 53k on new engine replaced 3k miles ago.

Check p. 53 of the owner's manual. It specifically says not to do donuts.

when the oil light comes on it's one of two things -- bad sensor, or zero oil moving thru the engine. Given the other issues (engine making noises / not running) I'd say the engine is toast...

I would be willing to bet that your donuts kept your oil pickup from doing its job and the engine failure is from oil starvation.

If it works before and then does this right after you messed it up

Oil starvation is my prognosis

Always hard to make a diagnosis from afar. The VQ35DE has a deep enough sump that doing donuts should not slam the oil level over so far to create oil starvation. But since we know nothing about the replacement motor's condition or installation, it's another variable to consider. But one thing is for sure: knocking in one of these jewel-like motors is a sure sign of serious trouble.

Wonder if OP will update the thread on what the physical inspection shows?

Did a little research and from my point if view, sounds like a spun bearing. Oil level as checked now is about 1/3 of way up dipstick (as in between low and high), which definitely isn't full, but is definitely high enough to where engine should be able to operate at high speeds. Oil was changed only 1.5-2 months ago.

If its a spun bearing it sounds like the engine is toast unless it didn't gouge up the crank, which with my luck it probably did. Gonna have to drain oil and take off oil pan and check for metal shavings, whenever I have the time.

Also one more thing I forgot to add, the oil light is not on when I start vehicle, only was on briefly (4-5 seconds) until I pulled into parking lot and turned her off.

15 seconds (one thousand one, one thousand two …) is a long time to spin a car. Not even Sebastian Vettel does it that long during his “victory dance.”

I suspect your Z died (lost all power) because the electronics were messed up while doing the spins. As dcains mentions, your owner’s manual explains this.

If the squealing noise happened when pushing the car…

… I wonder if it has anything to do with the engine. Maybe not.

I’ve never had my oil light go on, but a couple of years ago I noticed a tapping noise from the engine. The dipstick showed the oil as low, but not below the minimum mark. I added oil and the tapping noise went away. The engine has been fine since, but I really watch oil level after that incident.

I hope that you do not have a serious problem.

I was joking about the owner's manual, and common sense should have prevailed to protect this poor, abused Z from its F&F wannabe owner.

^^ The owner’s manual explains problems you experience with excessive wheel spin.

Tells you what the oil light means, too. That's the page which is important here, since it's too late for anything else to apply.

^^ Agreed. I was surprised when 350zadam said the oil light went on when Adam also states that his oil level was still above minimum on the dipstick. I don’t think that should happen. There is probably more going on here.

It doesn't matter that the oil was "high enough to where the engine should be able to operate at high speeds." When the car is making a hard turn--in this case donuts--the centrifugal force is pulling the oil to one side. If the oil pickup is no longer able to feed oil to the engine, you get oil starvation.
