Default clutch problem?, help I'm New.

Hey guys, I got a question. I just bought a 05 350z. Runs good and all. Just 3 days ago, a noise started. When I pressed down on the clutch and put it into first or reverse the sound would pop up until I released the clutch. Kinda sounds like when you take a hose and you bend it and slowly let the water out. Can anyone help?

Sounds like a problem with your throwout bearing, or possible slave cylinder leak. Get it looked at by a competent tech.

Thank you. I've also noticed that the clutch status about half way at times. To the point where I nearly need to press down on it to shift gears. What would cause that? Same problem?

Most likely the slave cylinder. Have you checked the brake master to see if you're losing brake fluid?

No I haven't checked it, I will as soon as I can. Probably tomorrow morning. I'll post up the results.

I checked, there's no leak. But it's really low. It's at like the minimum mark. I'll add some brake fluid in the morning.

Sorry, of course I meant the CLUTCH master. OP understood what I meant.

If the clutch master was low, you've got a leak. It's a closed hydrallic system and any significant loss of brake fluid means there's a problem. Topping it off will only mask the issue. Unless you're mechanically inclined, with tools and knowledge, you need to take it to a competent mechanic.

Nvm don't answer that question. I added fluid to the clutch master. It's not making any noise, yet.

New or not, you've got a lot to learn about your Z. Let's start with the location of your external clutch slave on the bellhousing. You'll need to jack up and support the car on jackstands to really look underneath and check it. If you added brake fluid to the clutch master on the top, you'll need to see if there's a leak underneath where that clutch line is connected to the slave. If a leak does exist, it will only continue to get worse and will eventually cause the clutch to be inoperable.

Didn't know that! Thank you! As soon as I get the chance I'll lift it up see if there's a leak. The noise is back and the fluid Is at max level.
