Need help removing rock chips off my 350z asap!!!!
Hi my name is Thomas, I am new to this forum…. I have a 2003 Nissan 350Z (ORANGE) with some rock chips on the hood and bumper, I've been doing a lot of reading in the forum but can't find anything about rock chip repair…. I saw a TV commercial this past Sunday on Car Crazy on Velocity Channel for a company EZ Chip Repair….. I went to their website Ezchiprepair.com and looked around…. the product looks good, so I went to google and read the reviews and they have mostly good reviews. So my question is has anyone in this forum tried this product???? I would love their feedback before I buy it….. Thank you
Depends how picky you are. Most of those products still look like a touch up repair so if you are expecting magic, you will be disappointed. The only real fix is a repaint of the affected areas unfortunately. The front of my car has lots of chips from debris, not much you can do about it.
There is another company that offers touch up paint that does do a very good job. It is www.DrColorchip.com. I've used this product and it does a very good job.

I've read good things about drcolorchip but like others have said it still is touch up paint and won't be perfect. There are ways to make chips look pretty dang good but it's a lot of work and is not at all reasonable for a lot of chips or road rash. I have a black Z so my front is peppered with chips, I'm going to give the drcolorchip a shot pretty soon here.

Sand it. Prep it. Spray it. I would repaint it myself. One bumper is not very hard. I would feel confident doing it even though I have no painting experience. All you need is a decent compressor and gun.
Touch it up carefully, then carefully level out the touch-ups with 2000 grit sandpaper, being careful not to sand through the clear that surrounds the touched up chip. After that, go have a clear bra put on it.
I have to call BS on this. Repainting is the best option, but you need a hell of a lot more than just a compressor and gun LOL.
^Truth. Repainting an automotive panel is no joke and can be very time consuming, paintstaking, and ultimately disappointing. My guess is for $300 you can have someone sand, prep, and respray. You just have to look.
As far as fixing chips yourself, I own a detailing company and the only way is to buy the correct touch up paint, have a full range of sand papers (from course to 2000+ grit), a full line of automotive compounds and polishes, and a dual action buffer. The process is time consuming, annoying, and sometimes quite difficult. Technique is everything and it requires practice.
