Default Inner Tie Rod replacement confusion.

I have a 2003 350z Performance model and when I took it in for an alignment that noticed I needed to change my inner tie rod on the driver side before they could align it.

I followed this link here: http://g35driver.com/forums/brakes-s...placement.html

Regarding the lock plate, mine came off without bending the tabs back. I simply twisted off my inner tie rod and it stayed attached.

I then was worried because when I put the car back together I noticed there is nothing to sit within the steering rack grooves to keep the locking plate from spinning. (picture of locking plate) http://www.ebay.com/itm/Steering-Tie-Rod-Lock-Plate-Genuine-fits-2000-2004-Nissan-350Z-Maxima-/190970064888?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Model%3A350Z&hash=item2c76b3eff8&vxp=mtr
My question is, am I missing another part?
The locking plate shown at that link has a rubber gasket attached to the rear and that is it. I threaded the tie rod in with blue loc-tite as well.

I went to the dealership to see if they could help and after spending a non-refundable $35 I got part number 486369W100 which is a plastic piece that certainly wasn't on my car when I took apart everything.
