My drivers side window motor on my 2004 has been out for about 3 months now. I've come across someone parting out their Z and selling their used OEM one from a 2005 for $50. My biggest concern is it going out again though because I've read that the earlier models had issues regarding the motors going out.
would it be a good idea to purchase the used OEM motor or just go with an new aftermarket one.
There are no new aftermarket motors that I know of. So you take a chance on the $50 motor or buy a rebuilt one at the store with a lifetime warranty. I don't think there were ever any OEM revisions that I've heard of either so there is no old vs. new - it's plain choice of trying to be a little cheaper now vs. getting a warranty. And like the other response said you don't know what you are getting. That salvaged motor may be ready for the rebuild pile too or soon...
I'd get the part store motor myself.

yeah you're right, great advice right here. the ones online offer a 1 year warranty. I will choose that route instead.
I enjoyed replacing the motor once a year for about three years. Then it gets old. Buy a new motor for $170. The used ones crap out again, way faster than what is acceptable.
