Default rpms, need advice.

Hey guys, I have a 05 z. Today I noticed that when I shift my rpms go up, then drop. I know that's normal. But there feels like there's a power loss. I'm trying to explain it the best I can without sounding stupid. Also when I give it gas the rpms go up by a little but then drop back down fast. Let me know if y'all know what's going on or have an idea.

Mileage smileage. Find a steep grade, go up it in 4th or 5th gear and if the revs rise but the speed doesn't, THEN you probably need a clutch. I have 145,000 on my original clutch in my '03. I know folks that are on their 3rd with that many miles, or less.
