HELP - P0420: Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1)
Not sure if this is in the correct forum, but here goes . . .
I received a Service Engine Soon light this morning. Connected my bluetooth ODBC, ran Torque for Android application, and received this error code:
"P0420: Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1)"
I tried researching it online (google) but really couldn't find much regarding diagnosing the cause, specifically on a 2008 350Z (if that matters).
I thought I would post it on the forums and tap into the wealth of information and experience in this community.
What steps should I take next on determining the cause and/or what do you think the problem is?
Thank you.

You can probably get around it if you clean your fuel system (Techron is good),
also make sure plugs are good.
Some reading for you-

2ND o2 sensor is reporting an error. If you have the stock exhaust either there is a leak between first/2nd o2 sensor (bank1 meaning side where cylinder 1 fires) cat is bad or sensor is back.

i had a code come up about a year ago and i have a 2008 but i dont remember exactly which code, but turned out my driver side cat went bad.
someone can correct me if im wrong but i believe we have an 8 year warranty on anything emissions related. i took it to the dealer and got a new cat, no charge. so that could be an option for you.
