Default Trunk Opens Continuously

I have a 2007 Coupe. This problem just recently started. As soon as I unlock my driver side door with the key fob, my trunk pops open. The trunk then continually tries to open (I can hear the lock unlatch non stop). It is as if someone is just mashing the trunk unlock button over and over again. The only way I can avoid the having the trunk open while driving is to close the trunk before I get into the car and then quickly lock the doors when I get inside (as long as the doors are locked the trunk stays closed, thankfully that still works). I have tried resetting the BCM by disconnecting the battery. I think the button by the license plate is faulty, or the BCM I suppose. Do I need to remove the rear bumper to get to the button above the license plate? I would like to just disconnect that. For some reason Nissan only put the kill switch on the roadsters.

Any help or experience with this issue would be appreciated. This is driving me insane. One of the many things that drive me insane with this car.

Have you tried using a different remote?

I have used my spare key fob. I have even taken the battery out of the fob, and it still goes insane.

Try unplugging the button by the tag and see if it still does it.
