Question about driving car in rain causing rust
Hello, I am a lover of my 350z and would like to keep it in best condition as possible. Just wondering if rain (I live in Canada) will cause body/under-body to rust. It is in immaculate condition now, would like to keep it that way, what do you think. Please let me know, thank you.

Modern Nissans like the 350Z have underbody panels that are zinc coated/dipped at the factory before painting. This zinc plating prevents rust unless there's damage that penetrates the clearcoat, paint and zinc coating exposing the steel underneath.
Just avoid driving in snow/salt
I plan to keep my Z for as long as I live so I go a step further by not driving when I know it is going to rain. But if I get caught up in rain I won't be bothered. Wash it very often and give it a wax at least 2 times a year. Some would criticize that but for me its about having fun working on my car

My '04 is still in like-new condition after owning it for 10 years and living in FL, IL, NC and CA.
The only time it has been garaged has been the two years that I lived in IL during the winter and there is not one speck of rust anywhere underneath my car.
Take care of the car and it will always look good, people can't believe my z is as old as it is when I tell them.
