Default Front left tire locks up while driving.

This has happened three times in the past week now. I have been driving, doing about 30 mph, and it feels like my front left tire locks up on me. When it happens the VDC off and SLIP light turn on. I am not hitting the brakes or turning, it just happens while I am driving straight. I filled up my brake fluid because the first time it happened I was braking but the last two times I wasn't. Has anyone else had this problem and if so, what is the issue? Oh I have a 2003 350z touring btw.

No way to tell for sure without a physical inspection. You'll need to jack up your Z and support it on jackstands. Pull both front wheels and start by doing a thorough inspection of the LF. Is the wheel sticking for some reason? Could be the wheel bearing or something jammed in the brake assembly. In any case, this is not a question that can be answered on this board, but YOU can!

Be sure to post what you find and fix to complete this thread.

I appreciate it but I'm at work and was hoping someone would know what the problem is. Maybe someone has experienced the same thing before?

My first thoughts were the calipers may be sticking, bad wheel bearing or speed sensor? I have to get on the highway to get home from work and I'm a little worried. I'm leaning towards the sensor, because when I restart the car the problem stops. If I continue driving without restarting the car, the problem persists.

This is not a known problem with the Z33, so it's doubtful whether anyone will respond with the exact answer you're seeking. The question is, do you have the tools, space and skills to work on this yourself, or do you need to take it to a pro?

I have the tools, space and youtube lol. I'll have to take it to a mechanic to at least have them identify the problem. I'm pretty sure it's the caliper though. I'll repost when I know for sure. It might help someone in the future.

Its kinda weird. It will lock up for a second then unlock and repeats until I pull over and restart the car. And its just the front left tire that locks up. So whenever it happens the car jerks to the left.
