I am with you, stealing airbags, wheels, catalytic converters, the whole car, all of these things make way more sense than stealing an ECM

Assuncion, have you downloaded the factory service manual, if not, google for a free download available from several sources. I don’t work on cars so I don’t have a manual, but a ‘no spark’ situation is not a complicated troubleshooting process. You only need an inexpensive multi-meter that can read DC voltage and a few ohm scales. This will allow a step-by-step check that power is getting to all the relevant systems (do check each connector for pins that could have been damaged during the heist) and most importantly that the ECU is processing timing input and dwell. The manual gives a couple of exacting values for the ECU and if they are not met, some cold hard text telling you to (yikes!!) replace the ECU.

Ebay electronic components are always a crapshoot and there are so many ways an ECU can be damaged. For example just unplugging the ecu with the ignition on can damage it etc.

Put a spark plug on your tongue and have someone turn the key, if you can talk afterwards, you have no spark.

The flux capacitor checked out fine, and I had our local locksmith sharpen up my key. I also had the bearings on my exhaust checked too. Btw, it tells me how to do all of that in my owners manual...

Thank you Jennifer. Finally, a helpful reply.

Lol! U just don't quit do U? Well, smart ***, I never said the dealership installed the ecm, I said they programmed it. All I asked them to do was program the key. And in response to your prior post...

1. U had a 350z? And downgraded to a 08 zo6? Nuff said...
2. I could care less how good a job you have, and how much U get paid, I'm positive I get paid more than you, and U would definitely love to have my job or love to work for the company I work for.
3. It's not about how much "tail" you get. Its about the quality! Anyone can go buy all *** they want... I'm sure U do...
