When I go to start my Z up when the engine is cold, it's very hard to shift. After letting it warm up for a few minutes, shifting is still tough, but manageable. Now when I get going a whine occurs and the pitch of the whine matches the rpms. After driving for 15-20 minutes, the whine fades and shifting becomes easier. The Z is an 03 touring with 93k miles. I believe am going to flush the tranny and put some redline mt-85 in within the next week or two. Any ideas or suggestions on a better move? The tranny doesn't grind in any gear and feels awesome once it's warmed up. Also, it has a brand new Z1 lightweight clutch and flywheel. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.
so let me ask you this travlee. I get a pretty gnarly constant whine from about 2-3200ish rpm i noticed fluid was low but could it be that through the entire box? also i have amsoil dot 3 fluid thoughts on that?
