Dude, I'm about to give up on you. With your lack of automotive experience, FI or V8 is the LAST thing you need. It's more complex and expensive than you think and is likely a deep, dark hole to throw money into. Fix the Z (it deserves it) and learn to drive it first.

+1... not being rude, but honest. With your lack of knowledge about the platform in general, FI is the last thing I would be looking into.

This was a completely preventable problem, and it's somewhat poetic that your Z made it back home before suffering such terminal problems. It's like riding a once-strong horse to death.
lmao, thats great ,but i spent 5200, and for a nismo. I literally expected something, to good to be true.

Ask an educated question and we will. Forum doesnt like to spoonfeed. Especially on a sunject that is asked 10 times a month and only 1/100 who asks has the funds to follow through...

in all seriousness, you need a full motor. could you swap an HR motor into your car, yeah you could but not worth it. just get another de to build. lsx swap will get you easy power, but will cost you more money

We ARE trying to work with you, but every time you post, you're actually loading more ridicule into this thread. So, let's start from the top: there was no factory NISMO Z built in the '03 model line. Nissan sold some S-tune NISMO-branded parts later that year, but that doesn't make a NISMO Z. Depending on what model you really have (do some research here), you paid $5,200 for a Z on life support. Not any kind of a bargain, so put down that party hat.

Like any forum, you'll hear a wide diversity of opinions here, but recognize you're in a vulnerable position (broke car and I did it). Try to start with the basics and don't be seduced into thinking an engine swap is easy- it's not. Forget about FI, V8s or any other sort of engine that your Z wasn't built with. At this early stage, you really don't know enough to even know what you're buying or how to determine if the shop you hire is doing a good job. Just focus on finding the best price on a VQ35DE (that's the model engine designation) and try to do some research on who and where to get the new engine installed.
