Exclamation [Solved] Please HELP! All lights on, Shifting hard, won't start! :(

Solution: So the mechanic never came and all the shops that I called wanted me to tow the car to them and some didn't want to "mess with Nissans from 2003 - 2007". If I was gonna tow the car 15 miles without certainty that they were going to fix it, I may as well spend some more time searching up. After about 6 hours of research I found this: http://www.carcomplaints.com/Nissan/...system.shtml#2 After reading that I did some research on those senors and concluded that there was my problem. Went to the auto parts, got all three new sensors, put them in, and boom. Problem solved.

But today when I started it to go to work the engine stopped. I was confused and then noticed that several lights were on and the little screen in the RPM gauge didn't show anything (see image). I tried to start the car again and everything seem fine, but the lights were still on, at this point a was more confused and worried. Since the engine was still running and didn't shutoff, I put the car on drive and was on my way to work (Note: I never drive in auto, I always use shiftronic but since a didn't know what was happening I decided not to mess with anything and drive the car normally) then the car started to shift very hard. I was about 1 minute from my house when I turned back, parked the car, and called Walmart to let them know that I wasn't able to go stock bird food and plant fertilizer today. I tried to start the car again but now... it wouldn't start at all . I remembered that I had low oil and the oil light had been on for about a week and some days. I checked it and indeed there was little to no oil in the car, but that didn't explain why so many lights were on and why the car didn't start (I'm no car expert, maybe that has everything to do with it, maybe not. pls let me know guys!). I check the battery and the positive terminal was a little loose, I tight it up, tried again but nothing. The car cranks but doesn't start. I bought 5 QT of Royal Purple 5w30 to do an oil change (more like refill ) but the oil plug was stripped . I just ordered a new entire oil pan . Can someone help me pls!!!

Note: I know it was very irresponsible of me to run the car with almost no oil in it, sorry.
Note: Last night there was kind of a little storm here in Miami where I live, my first thought was that maybe some water got somewhere and that was making the car act crazy. Could that be a reason? I didn't find any H2O in the engine bay btw.

EDIT: I found out today that the front windshield wipers don't work. The rear one is fine.

Welcome- the issues with your Z could be from several sources. It always helps to list what year and model your Z is, together with current mileage. Here's some questions to get you started:

1. While you do need to change the oil (or add oil), I wonder how long its been since you last changed it?

2. Was the oil fill bolt cross-threaded, or was the head stripped (rounded off)?

3. How old is the battery and do you have any way to check it?

4. Do you have any way to use the Z's sophisticated diagnostic system and pull codes?

5. Is the Z always parked outside? Water isn't likely the cause of your problems, but we have no way to know what condition (and how watertight) your Z is in.

Do you have any practical knowledge regarding engine repair? If not, I strongly recommend you leave this to a professional. The fact that you're not even getting an odometer reading anymore leads me to believe you have severe engine or system damage going on there.

I know you know this, but failing to act on an oil light kind of leads me to think the car needs someone with more capability here.

Thanks for the replies and trying to help guys. The car a is a 2004 Touring Automatic with 111k miles. It's in pretty good shape, some rust underneath but nothing to worry about. To be more specific, when I turn the key to the ACC position everything is fine for like a second. Then, all the lights in the image i posted come on, le headlights come on even though I have them off, amd the fans go crazy. That's what leads me to think that there's some electronic problem.

PS: I do get odometer reading, what I said was that the screen where it should say P, N, D, and tje gears you're in, is clear. Not the odometer.

So your oil light was on but you waited for the car to be extra upset about its state of affairs before you examine the situation?

Add some oil, and give it a shot. Hopefully you didn't sustain any major damage.

Let's try again- you didn't answer anything from questions #1-5. Hard to advise you if you ignore them...

Oh sorry man I was at work when I replied and didn't see what you said.

1. I've had the car for around a month, I haven't changed the oil myself yet.

2. Cross-threaded, you can turn It for weeks, it won't come out. I tried putting a thin knife (also tried with a compound spatula) between the blot and the pan to pray it out as I turned it but that didn't work.

3. The battery looks very new, I don't know how old it is. Here's a picture of the label:

Please HELP! All lights on, Shifting hard, won't start! :(-4jnbxp2.jpg

4. I don't have a code reader yet. As soon as I got the car a took it to advance auto parts for a code reading and everything was clear. After a week and a half of having it the service engine soon light came on and I imminently took it back for another code reading but it turned out to be something with the fuel sensor. Makes the gas gauge inaccurate sometimes, I did some research and found out that this was a common issue with the Zs.

5. Yes it is. I have a parking space with roof but my dad has a boat in there . Also I don't have the fender protectors on the car right now since I changed the bumper (I'm taking the car back to the stock look, it had the veilside v3 body kit when I bought it. Not a big fan of it) recently and the old ones where in bad shape. I have to buy new ones.

Based on your answers, you likely have several problems. Some are electrically related, while others are not. Guessing you didn't have the Z checked out mechanically before your bought it (and it was sold with no warranty to boot). These are not problems an inexperienced owner will be able to solve on their own. I'd suggest you find a local Nissan specialist to evaluate your car and do the work.

Also, have the Z TOWED to the shop, as any further running will likely damage the engine further, even if you get it started.

The dash warning and indicator lights are in diagnostic mode and remain illuminated because you are unable to start the engine. The car won’t start because the engine ruined after running without adequate oil.
